The NewBec

I'm not who I was.

Gnarled Beauty (and a winner)

It was a beautiful day. The weather was gorgeous, the Rev had the day off, and I was having my second really good day (neuro-issue-wise) in a row. J was mostly on the mend from her allergies-gone-wild, and I think that we were all ready to get out of the house. But mostly we were ready for some quality time TOGETHER.

We are fortunate to live in an absolutely beautiful part of the country (whose only natural downfall is the aforementioned barrage of allergens). Exquisite scenery is right before our eyes, yet we don’t go out of our way often enough to take advantage of what’s available to us. It’s a shame, really. Narnia is practically in our back yard.

“If a willing victim who has committed no treachery is killed in a traitor’s stead, the Stone Table will crack; and even death itself would turn backwards.” -C.S. Lewis

There’s so much wonder that we miss out on experiencing because we simply won’t take the time to put a pause on the busy and go after the beauty.

Sometimes what we fear will choke us out is the very tool God uses to mold us into a beautiful becoming.
What a creative, loving, living God.

And now for the results of the book giveaway!
